TEST
How UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply to day-to-day care work: what counts as special category data, when you may share without consent, how long records are kept, and exactly what to do in the first hour of a suspected breach.

The Care Academy is where most learners begin. It covers induction through the Care Certificate, the full mandatory and statutory training matrix, and the underpinning knowledge every care practitioner needs before any clinical task is delegated to them.
The Care Certificate is the agreed set of standards that health and social care workers should work to from their first day. It is not a qualification in itself; it is a portfolio of assessed competence across sixteen standards, completed in the workplace and signed off by an assessor.
The full pathway
- 1Enrolment and skills audit — The Care Practitioner Training & Competency Evaluation Form is completed to establish existing knowledge, experience and gaps.
- 2Induction learning — The underpinning knowledge for all sixteen standards, delivered online or in the classroom.
- 3Workplace application — The learner applies the learning in practice with support.
- 4Portfolio building — Evidence is gathered against each standard: written work, reflective accounts, witness testimony and direct observation.
- 5Direct observation — An assessor observes practice against the standards requiring it.
- 6Competency sign-off — The assessor confirms each standard is met.
- 7Certification — The Care Certificate is issued and recorded on the learner's portal.
The sixteen standards
- 1.Understand your role
- 2.Your personal development
- 3.Duty of care
- 4.Equality and diversity
- 5.Work in a person-centred way
- 6.Communication
- 7.Privacy and dignity
- 8.Fluids and nutrition
- 9.Awareness of mental health, dementia and learning disability
- 10.Safeguarding adults
- 11.Safeguarding children
- 12.Basic life support
- 13.Health and safety
- 14.Handling information
- 15.Infection prevention and control
- 16.Awareness of the Mental Capacity Act
Complex care and long-term conditions
The Complex Care Academy begins with a structured skills audit. Every learner completes the Care Practitioner Training & Competency Evaluation Form, which maps their existing qualifications, self-assessed competence across sixteen practice areas, complex care experience, and clinical procedures they have been trained and assessed on. That audit produces a personalised training plan — two practitioners with the same job title frequently need entirely different programmes, and this is how we identify that before a single course is booked.
Dementia, Parkinson's, MS and long-term conditions
Twelve condition-specific modules, built from the same Care Practitioner Training & Competency Evaluation Form used across the Care Academy — a personalised plan, not a generic course list.
All prices are per learner, excluding VAT, and are indicative England market rates for the 2026–2027 academic year. They are benchmarked against comparable UK providers and are intended to be competitive rather than lowest-cost.
Corporate pricing applies to organisations booking cohorts and is agreed per contract. Subscription provides unlimited access to a defined curriculum for an annual fee per learner.
Discounts are available for block bookings, multi-year agreements and charitable organisations. VAT is charged where applicable.
All prices per learner unless stated. Corporate and subscription rates are agreed per organisation.
Self-paced e-learning with knowledge assessment and instant certification.
